The South Asian Symphony Foundation, supported by the Bangalore School of Music, will be hosting a 5-day masterclass for conductors and musicians who wish to hone their craft and abilities as musical leaders or performers. Interested participants are required to fill up an application form and submit video links as their audition tapes. Applicants must be citizens of India or individuals of South Asian descent.   • Venue: No 8, CBI Main Road, HMT-HBCS Layout, RT Nagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560032, India
  • Course Fees: 6,000 INR (Indian Rupees)
  • Accepted participants have to make their own travel and stay arrangements

Application Requirements

For Instrumental Applicants:

  • Applicants must be citizens of India or individuals of South Asian descent.
  • Applicants must be 35 years old or younger.
  • Application Form must be submitted by 15 May 2020.
  • Submit 2 video links of two contrasting pieces written specifically for your instrument from the Eighteenth Century to Mid-Twentieth Century. Standard Concertos are encouraged; etudes and studies will not be accepted.
  • Applicants who possess Grade 8 certificate in Instrumental Performance (ABRSM, Trinity or any other equivalent) and/or can demonstrate Grade 8 performance level in their videos will be preferred

Applicants who do not fulfill these requirements may still apply and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

For Conducting Applicants:

  • Applicants must be citizens of India or individuals of South Asian descent.
  • Applicants must be 45 years old or younger.
  • Application Form must be submitted by 15 May 2020.
  • Submit 2 video links of your conducting. Video links should be from selections of the Classical or Romantic repertoire

Applicants who do not fulfill these requirements may still apply and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
