The South Asian Symphony Orchestra is a unique ensemble brining together musicians from across the region to foster peace and unity through music. The inspiration comes from Ambassador Nirupama Menon Rao’s years in diplomacy and aims to provide a platform to promote dialogue, cultural synergy, and friendly understanding. Singaporean conductor Alvin Arumugam leads the orchestra in a programme featuring compositions by Beethoven and Mendelssohn, and a new work by Indian composer Aryaman Joshi celebrating the spirit and ambition of India’s lunar exploration, as well as two beloved works sung by tenor Anando Mukerjee.
Programme includes:
Aryaman Joshi: Chandrayaan
Mendelssohn: The Hebrides
Beethoven: Symphony No. 2
Puccini: Nessun Dorma
Rodgers: Some Enchanted Evening
This is a free event with seating on first-come-first-served basis. Auditorium doors will open at 6:00PM. Those who have registered will have priority entry.
