A Concert by the South Asian Symphony Orchestra
Peace Notes
The South Asian Symphony Orchestra is a unique ensemble bringing together musicians from across the region to foster peace and unity through music. The inspiration comes from Ambassador Nirupama Menon Rao’s years in diplomacy and aims to provide a platform to promote dialogue, cultural synergy, and friendly understanding.
The South Asian Symphony Foundation will present the next two concerts of the South Asian Symphony Orchestra in New Delhi this November. The first of these events will be at the Fountain Lawns, India International Centre, Lodhi Road, at 6:00 PM on November 22. The second of these events will be held at the Auditorium, Baha’i House of Worship (Lotus Temple) at 6:30 PM on November 23.
The Orchestra will be conducted by Alvin Arumugam and the concert on November 22 will feature concert pianist Pallavi Mahidhara as the soloist. Works by Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Saint-Saëns will be featured in the concerts, in addition to an original composition titled Chandrayaan, celebrating India’s lunar mission, composed by Aryaman Joshi, which will receive its India premiere at these concerts.
